It received approval from the national government in January 2013. Construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2013 and the airport is projected to start operation by the end of 2015. ==Facilities== Qionghai Airport will have a 2,600-meter runway capable of handling Boeing 737-800 and Airbus 320 aircraft, a 9,000 square-meter terminal building, and 26 aircraft parking aprons.
